Create a Three Device Strategy

Your customers and potential customers can interact with you through three devices - computers, tablets, and mobile devices. It’s important to consider how your business appears on each of these devices. Increasingly, it’s also important to examine your mobile strategy. More and more consumers access websites through their mobile phones or devices such as iPads. How will you meet the unique needs of consumers shopping and browsing on a screen the size of a credit card?

When accessed on the small screen of a mobile phone, a website developed for a full-sized display becomes difficult to navigate and requires the user to perform a lot of zooming and scrolling to find basic information. To reach customers using mobile devices, consider providing a mobile version of your website. The mobile version should be formatted for a smaller screen with easy access to the most important functions such as a simplified shopping cart and your business contact information.

You may feel the need for a mobile website is far away, but mobile usage is growing, and in the next couple years of mobile websites will be a standard. Check your mobile traffic through Google Analytics by selecting "Audience" -> "Mobile" -> "Overview". You may be surprised at the number of users already accessing your website through a mobile device.
